CONRAIL/EMD SD80MAC OPERATIONS FAMILIARIZATION

This Conrail/EMD produced video provides the viewer with a detailed look at the new SD-80MAC 5000 HP 20 cylinder, two cycle 80 foot long diesel engine. Bill Faulhaber, Conrail's manager of locomotive engineer training takes us on a tour describing all the new features of the engine including the new HTCR II self steering radial trucks, AC traction system, whisper cab, performance characteristics, inspection and trouble shooting procedures, as well as a full description of the cab controls, AR screen displays, menu set ups and throttle and dynamic brake operation. Part two of the program explains the new EL-106a locomotive defect reporting and recording form.
